Light Steel vs Heavy Steel Structure: What Is the Difference?
Both systems use steel, but they solve different problems. Here is how to choose between light-gauge and heavy steel for…
Read articlePractical insight from the factory, the drawing board and the site.
Prefabricated steel houses are no longer a compromise. Modern systems combine engineered strength with architectural freedom, factory quality and a construction programme measured in weeks rather than months.
Factory production runs in parallel with site preparation. A house that might take nine months to build traditionally can often be enclosed in a few weeks, reducing financing costs and rental delays.
Factory jigs, controlled welding and documented inspection produce straight walls, square openings and reliable connections. Weather does not stop production, and waste is reduced.
Steel frames allow wide openings, large glazed walls, cantilevers and double-height spaces. Finishes can be traditional or modern; the structure does not dictate the look.
Galvanised steel resists rot, termites and corrosion. Insulated panels improve thermal performance, and the structure can be designed for high wind, snow and seismic loads.
At the end of its life, steel is highly recyclable, which supports greener construction targets.
